With the Kindling Cracker, anyone can split wood! New Zealander Ayla Hutchinson developed this ingeniously simple device for a school project when she was thirteen. Very cold, almost Antarctic winters, laborious wood chopping, and concern for her hands led Ayla to search for the perfect solution. We got to know the German importer and couldn't resist adding the device to our range.
Children, grandma, grandpa – everyone can easily make firewood
The surrounding ring stabilizes the log and prevents splinters from flying around. You don't need to be skilled at chopping wood either, as there's no need to aim the axe precisely. This minimizes the risk of injury. It's the classic technique, only now it's turned upside down and the sharp, dangerous axe is firmly and safely secured. Ingenious!
