Simple cuckoo clock: Rombach & Haas modern cuckoo clock
Cuckoo clocks have been experiencing a real revival in recent years. And the trend shows no sign of abating. In Schonach in the Black Forest, we discovered a cuckoo clock manufacturer that skillfully combines this traditional craft with modern design. Even the German Chancellor occasionally gives cuckoo clocks as gifts.
Schonach//Black Forest.
A completely analog morning ritual that Black Forest residents are very familiar with is winding the cuckoo clock. Depending on the movement installed, this model requires daily or weekly attention. You can order the clock with either a "1-day movement" (CU14) or an "8-day movement" (CU34).
Modern cuckoo clock: cuckoo in a cube
This Bauhaus-inspired version of a cuckoo clock is wonderfully minimalist. Architect Mies van der Rohe would probably have loved this model – if it had existed in his day. There is simply nothing superfluous here. No excessive ornamentation. Instead, clear lines. Available in silver gray, black, or white. If you want to add a touch of country chic, you can also order this model with a deer head attached to the front. A Bauhaus-Black Forest clash variant, so to speak. Also nice.
Romba cuckoo clock: Beautiful, warm cuckoo call
The cuckoo call itself is warm and beautiful and radiates a calming atmosphere. If you don't want to hear it, it can be turned off using an elegant lever at the bottom of the case. Otherwise, the cuckoo calls every half hour with a "cuckoo," and every hour on the hour it announces the specific time, so 8 or 8 p.m. means eight "cuckoo" calls.
