Romba cuckoo clock: With 8-day movement & 2 birds
Cuckoo clocks have been experiencing a real revival in recent years. And the trend shows no sign of abating. In Schonach in the Black Forest, we discovered a cuckoo clock manufacturer that skillfully combines this traditional craft with modern design. Even the Chancellor gives cuckoo clocks as gifts from time to time.

A completely analog morning ritual that Black Forest residents are very familiar with is winding the cuckoo clock. However, this model only needs to be wound once a week, as it has a so-called "8-day movement" inside.
Modern cuckoo clock: the cuckoo is on top
What makes this model special is the position of the cuckoo. The two singing birds have landed on the roof, so to speak, and move slightly with each call. In classic cuckoo clocks, the bird sits behind a door that opens when it calls. Here, the bird is already visible in advance. Another special feature is the beautifully crafted case made of solid cherry wood with an engraved deer.
Black Forest cuckoo clock: Beautiful, warm cuckoo call
The cuckoo call itself is warm and beautiful and radiates a calming atmosphere. If you don't want to hear it, it can be turned off using an elegant lever at the bottom of the case. Otherwise, the cuckoo calls every half hour with a "cuckoo," and every hour on the hour it announces the specific time, so 8 or 8 p.m. means eight "cuckoo" calls.
Romba cuckoo clock: Dimensions and material
The case is made of cherry wood. Height 19 cm, width 16 cm, depth 14 cm.
